Aged Care

Thoughtful planning for multi-level aged-care facilities in existing, well-established suburbs allows people to age in place, facilitates the delivery of high-quality care, and can add diversity, interest and added amenity for the whole community.

CLE Town Planning + Design has a thorough understanding of, and experience in, planning applications supporting aged care developments.

For the Bethanie Beachside project, CLE Town Planning + Design coordinated and prepared planning documentation and supporting justification for the reconfiguration of a retirement village complex. The team liaised extensively with the City of Wanneroo and addressed Design Review Panel input to negotiate built form expectations and ensure a positive outcome, balancing internal and external context and amenity considerations.

Importantly, CLE Town Planning + Design secured a timely approval for Bethanie which enabled them to deliver independent living accommodation designed to foster a sense of community for its residents. Particular emphasis was place in engendering social interaction within carefully planned areas of communal open space.

ALFRED COVE

Opal

CLE Town Planning + Design assisted Opal Aged Care to obtain planning approval for a three-storey, 120 bed residential aged care facility within an established low density residential precinct of Alfred Cove. This proposal superseded a previous controversial proposal for the site and delivered a sensitive and place-appropriate outcome through the Joint Development Assessment Panel approval, providing a solution to the undersupply of aged care accommodation within the City of Melville. The team carefully managed community consultation prior to the lodgement of the application.

CLE Town Planning + Design’s experience in residential aged care, the negotiation of proposals through the Joint Development Assessment Panel Process and experience in the delivery of built form projects in established infill areas contributed to a positive planning outcome for the Opal Alfred Cove project.
