CLE were proud to be Gold Sponsors of this year’s UDIA National Congress at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre. Teaming up with the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture CLE presented a different take on the traditional conference booth.

Peter Kendall, one of Australia’s mostly highly regarded portrait artists, created a painting of UDIA Councillor and Vice President, Mike Best, over a period of 5 hours live at the conference. To view photos of the portrait sitting click here.

Brighton District Centre

Following a highly collaborative planning exercise between The City of Wanneroo, The Department of Planning, The Public Transport Authority, our Clients (Satterley Property Group and Department of Housing) and the Brighton Project Team, which included both local and interstate study tours, the WAPC recently granted final adoption to the new Brighton District Centre Structure Plan which proposes around 76,000m2 of commercial, business and office floorspace in the northern corridor. This is the first greenfield Activity Centre Plan prepared and approved by both the Local Authority and the WAPC under SPP 4.2 and represents a significant planning milestone for all concerned.

Major New Appointment

CLE Town Planning + Design is pleased to have been appointed by the Department of Treasury as Project Planners for the preparation of the Master Plan for the Burswood Major Stadium Project. We look forward to working closely with State Government and the Burswood Project Team to deliver this very special place for the people of Western Australia.

Housing Affordability – A Hot Topic

CLE recently sponsored the UDIA November Hot Topics breakfast on housing affordability, where Malcolm Mackay, from CLE and Mackay Urban Design, spoke on new forms of medium density housing to tackle this problem.
