CLE in the Community
CLE is actively involved and contributes in the development industry and the broader community.
We provide continued support to Urban Development Institute of Western Australia, Planning Institute of Australia, Local Government Planners Association and Housing Industry Association, through event sponsorship, attendance and providing technical input to resolve industry wide issues. In particular, Jane Bennett, Director, is a UDIA Councillor and chair of the UDIA Sustainability Committee and Tony Lambert, Director, is on the HIA Committee.
CLE supports and encourages our staff to be involved in and contribute to community events and initiatives. Some examples of contributions to the community include:
- In addition to Tina Wilson being our Graphic Designer, she is also the Executive Director of ARTrinisic Inc, the organiser of the City of Perth Black Swan Prize for Portraiture. Many of our staff volunteer time to support this event. CLE continues to be a sponsor of this event.
- Naomi Antenucci, a key member of our design team, is the author of a children’s book titled “Why Am I Different – My First Allergy Book“, which has now sold 750 copies online across the world.
- Ian Everett (Crazy Yak Photography) and Mark de Cruz (MDC Photography) are talented and keen photographers, contributing their time to voluntary organisations such as Save the Children Fund and being part of community events.
- Cameron Leckey is actively involved as a youth mentor in the YMCA’s “Big Brother Big Sister” program. Big Brothers Big Sisters is a community-based mentoring program, based on developing long-term, one-to-one friendship between an adult volunteer and a young person aged 7-17. By spending time with a responsible adult and doing everyday activities, the young person is able to explore different skills and experiences. This increases their sense of self worth, improves relationships and encourages a healthy development within their home, school, and wider community.
