UDIA (WA) 2013 Awards for Excellence

The recent UDIA 2013 Awards for Excellence, held at the Perth Convention Centre, proved very successful for CLE as town planners and urban designers on two of the decorated land development projects.

We congratulate the Satterley Property Group and Department of Housing for victory in the Best Masterplanned Estate category for Brighton,  and we congratulate Mirvac (WA) for taking home the Best Residential Development Over 250 Lots Award for the Meadow Springs project.

CLE has had a long, productive and very successful association with both Clients and these projects and are very proud to be involved with these awards successes.

Urban Voices

CLE Urban Designer Neil Thom is one of a number of authors who have collaborated in the release of a book entitled “Urban Voices – Celebrating Urban Design in Australia”. The commemorative publication celebrates the 100th edition of Urban Design Forum (UDF) in Australia over a 25 year period.

In his essay Neil explores the evolution of mainstreet design in Perth, and compares the established inner ring mainstreets with newly created mainstreets in greenfield environments. He documents some of the challenges, opportunities and the need to maintain a flexible approach as they evolve into successful urban places.
